Peer Feedback:
  • The editing was done really well in this and I like the different angles of the backgrounds. The only thing I would improve upon is the writing of the script.
  • It was very good but the microphone sounds fussy at times.
This peer feedback is helpful to me as it made me think about the planning that I had to give to the other team, it made me think that perhaps when I write a script, I should go into more detail to convey the story and I should also think about what the characters are saying and consider if a person would actually say something like that. For example, the script that we where given, although it was produced professionally and went into plenty of coherent detail, the dialogue was questionable. We had to change the sentence "Oh hot diggity dog, that's a toughie" to instead be "Oh, that's a toughie" purely because it is not a sentence the actor was comfortable with saying and it also didn't sound like a casual thing to say.

Dear Mr. Conrad,

Ref: RB123 Part-time Radio Broadcast (Production) Assistant

After reading through the BBC Radio Norfolk website and listening to previous broadcasts, I have become quite interested in the position you spoke about previously. This part-time job would benefit me greatly as I am currently completing my Extended Diploma in Creative Production and Technology at the College of West Anglia in July 2020. The prospect of joining your staff in this role would be an aspirational and exciting challenge.

Throughout my two years at college, I have received many opportunities to participate in which include reaching the semi-finals of WorldSkills UK Live, this has given me experience with documents and being of assistance to others. I am extremely interested in the position as I enjoy working with people and have previous experience with working along-side someone. I am highly organised, punctual and am able to learn and adapt quickly when given new tasks.

I am aware of the audience that you reach and that you are one of the largest radio stations in Norwich and I am keen to work for a company with such a large influence.

Thank you for considering my application. I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss the position further with you.

Your faithfully,

HJWard

Ms. Holly J. Ward

This is my final edited showreel which displays all of my favourite and best clips that I have filmed. I have added this on to my website - which is also my portfolio - and I have shown this during my University interview. The graphics at the beginning where made in photoshop.
